Eat your heart out, Betty Crocker!

When I helped Katie move a few weeks ago, we stopped for a break at Coffee Garden. In the confectionary case, they had some brownies that looked mighty delectable. I got one, and it was probably one of the best things I've ever tasted in my life. But I couldn't put my finger on what made it so good. I gave Katie a bite, and the first thing she said was, "almond extract." She certainly has a well-trained palate.
The other night when I made brownies, I tossed in a couple teaspoons of almond extract, and it has made all the difference. If you happen to make some brownies and follow my suggestion, be sure to thank Katie.
