Last night was the much-anticipated (around here, at least) debate between conservative talk shot host Sean Hannity and Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson. Rocky is in an interesting position. He's the very liberal mayor of a very liberal city in the most conservative state in the union. He frequently organizes and participates in anti-Bush demonstrations, and has caught a lot of flak for his views. You can see why Hannity wanted an open-forum dabate so bad.
The event, held in Kingsbury Hall on the University of Utah campus, was broadcast live on local television. I only got to see about 30 minutes, and it was predictably full of shouting and high-school-level insults. They stuck mostly on-topic (the war in Iraq), but what surprised me most was how vocal (read: rude) the audience was.
You can read about the debate here and here. If you're interested, you can watch the two hour video here.
